Hi Madeleine.
Thanks for the reminder about the Ubuntu cola. I've been meaning to try to get hold of some. I'll post when I do and let everyone know what it tastes like!

Did you see the article in todays Metro about Fair trade cola? Its Cola made from fair trade sugar from a coop in a village in Malawi. Dont think they will be able to cope with the demands Coco cola would place on them and therefore get widespread distribution but they have produced enough to trial in dozens of UK universities. On the coffee front, I have my own cafetiere on my desk and can buy fair trade coffee easily from two tesco Metros a short walk away from my office. As I am pregnant I only buy decaf and the decaf I buy has been certified by the Rainforest alliance which as well as guaranteeing that farmers follow sound agricultural practices to protect the environment also ensures workers get just wages, dignified working conditions and access to education and health care. Although its not labelled as fair trade, those principles are close to it.

This made me laugh outloud! Amazing particularly when you can get a cup og FT coffee while waiting for the car to be serviced at the local garage!

My worry about the individual filters would be the amount of packaging/waste they use. Will be interesting to see what you think. Maybe you will have to lug a cafetiere on the back of you bike instead??...oh and some milk...some coffee...a mug...Hmmmm...maybe not?
